My Big, Fat TBR Pile (17)

Most Wanted:

This week I have TWO picks. I know, it's a bit shocking. BUT I DESIRE BOTH SO BADLY AND JUST AS EQUALLY. Like I've got a bad case of the Wants and even worse case of the Gimme Nows.

Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Entangled Teen/Entangled Publishing, August 14, 2012
Do not read if you haven't read Obsidian!

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard.

Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem…

The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies.

Why I Want to Read It: Come on, you had to have seen that one coming. I don't know what to do anymore. I am so desperate not to look desperate to the pubs but MAN I DESIRE THIS BOOK. I ADORED Obsidian, the first book in the series, and I would willingly give myself a paper cut, TWICE, drink a half cup—okay, no, a quarter of a cup—of prune juice, put my face next to a whole slew of magentas as in the flower—at least, that's what I think they're called—and I'M ALLERGIC, just FYI. I would do all of this if it entertained someone enough to give me a copy. TRUE. FREAKING. STORY.

Black Dawn by Rachel Caine

Do not read if you haven't read the Morganville Vampire series 1-8!

The hotly-anticipated twelfth instalment in the Morganville Vampires series

In Last Breath, the rain brought a new and dire threat to Morganville and its vampires... their ancient enemies, the draug. Now, the vampires are fighting a losing war, and it will fall to the residents of the Glass House: Michael, Eve, Shane and Claire, to take the fight to an enemy who threatens to destroy the town, forever.

Lovers of Morganville, rejoice: Black Dawn takes the intrigue, romance and nail-biting suspense of the series to its highest level yet!

Why I Want to Read It: Show of hands, which of you non-Aussies cried big fat ugly tears when they saw this up on NetGalley for AUSSIES ONLY? Everything I touched became damp from my tears. I felt like someone gutted out my heart and now A HUGE DREADFUL SPACE is there. I don't even know what to do with myself. And how AMBIGUOUS IS THAT SUMMARY? It does little for fans of the series ready to kick, scratch, and claw each other to get their hands on a copy. I love *sniffles* this series so much, I read it all in a week! The agony is too much *holds up hand*. I must cease.

Fresh Faces:
*The following aren't necessarily books that I own, but just ones I hope to get to soon.

Grave Mercy by R. L. LaFevers
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, April 3, 2012
Magic Under Stone by Jaclyn Dolamore
Bloomsbury, April 10, 2012

Shut Out by Kody Keplinger
Poppy, September 5, 2011
Shift by Jeri Smith-Ready
Simon Pulse, May 1, 2011

And that's it for this week's glimpse into my TBR pile.
I look forward to showing you more of what's in My Big, Fat TBR Pile.

What's lingering in your to-read pile?

Wait, your tbr pile is like a wishlist, right? Because my tbr pile is books I own and now I'm all confused. *scratches head* Maybe I got it wrong the whole time and was needlessly depressed when I heard people talk about their tbrs.. o.o

I believe we discussed our desperation for Black Dawn on Twitter. ;) Do you think there is still time to move to Australia? That book definitely gives me a bad case of Wants and Gimme Nows.

And don't even get me started on Onyx! No really, don't... *cries*

Ahhh!!!  I had ZERO interest in Obsidian a month ago, heck, two weeks ago, and now I've heard so many people whose opinions I tend to agree with loving on it that I'm thinking I have to read it asap.  Hope you love Onyx as much as others have been!

You know, when I first saw Obsidian I was so uninterested, byt the new covers, and all the buzz. THE BUZZ! It's like the ringing in your ears after an accident of explosion. Or a mosquito on a hot summer night. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY. MUT READ.

Hope you don't have much longer to wait ;D
