Official Event Wrap-Up & Blogging Hiatus

Hear that? I just farted and coughed at the same time. You have officially jacked up my body systems, Paranormous Fantastival, since my body now creates odd sounds that shouldn’t go together simultaneously. Don’t laugh at me.

There was purpose to Paranormous Fantastival. Several, in fact. First, the event was meant for my blog readers to enjoy. I wanted something fun and exciting to happen on my blog in a way I couldn’t accomplish on my own. That’s what the authors were there for. This also worked as a successful learning tool. I now know that I do have some semblance of a social life and people get offended when I say I’m not going out with them because I have some blog posts to schedule. August turned out to be the busiest month of my life this year, which is quite the bulletin. Have I gotten more interesting and didn’t know it? Maybe it was the hair. I cut an inch off recently and then dyed the rest blue. Not really. I now know that attempting to blog as the event goes on just messes up the flow, especially when you can’t be home to set one up. I kept envisioning angry internet minions with giant forks ready to tear me to pieces if I didn’t get a blog post up—OBVS that meant I wasn’t enjoying my rainbow snow cone alongside nana (which has zero connection to the fact that I srsly loathe snow cones of any kind) while my mind traversed scary, dark paths. But, mainly, the real purpose of Paranormous Fantastival was to sprinkle some fun in what I imagined was going to be an otherwise awfully boring summer. My career as a fortune-teller is blown, clearly.

Unbelievably, August was also the month that I read the least amount of books in, I think, I don’t know… EVER. A sore on my heart. Let the record show I only read SIX books during my last month of summer… and then let’s forget about it.

All this is just an inelegant way of saying: I am pooped out after Paranormous Fantastival. I am that lone traveler wandering the desert who hasn’t seen shade, water, and a proper urinal facility in weeks. I was a Gollum dwelling in the cave that is my bedroom curled protectively around my computer and hissed at any intruders who managed to infiltrate the premises, “Miiiinne. My precioussssss.” In my down time, I also watched Lord of the Rings a lot and felt my life drain away slowly, as is common when you sit through nine hours of footage.

So, before I get into listing the posts and announcing the giveaway winners, I wanted to take the time out to let ya’ll know that I won’t be returning to the blog for the duration of the month. That’s right, I won’t be back on the blog until October 1st. College and potential employment and finally getting to read equals less, less posting. So I decided not to post altogether and come back stronger next month. Try not to miss me too much. Of course my inner narcissist would ask that you do plenty of missing me.

Now, then, onto the good stuff.

Thank you, EVERYONE, for participating and entering to win, because that's what makes everything more fun. I appreciate all the commenting and tweeting and general excitement! Congrats to all the winners as well! I'll be sending out emails between today and tomorrow, so look out for those. You will have 48 hours to respond to the email I send or another winner will be selected, which you don't want. And any prizes that I have to send will be slowly sent out as I'm a little backed up at the moment. I'll send emails for those specific prizes letting you winners know when I send them out so you'll know to keep an eye out for their arrival.

Try to be patient :)

There WILL be plenty of missing you! It's understandable that you need to take a break though, especially after the jam-packed summer you had on your blog. :) This is partly why I avoid hosting anything big of my own. I find posting reviews (or anything really) pretty stressful sometimes so anything more is out of the question. :D

I hope you read some great books while you are away and come back fully reenergised! And also, a huge pat on the back for pulling off such a great event in the first place. :)

I feel like that gif whenever I come home from work.

Enjoy your hiatus. I'll be here when you get back! <3

Also? OMG freakin August was SO busy. I am happy for slothful September.

Asher, I can totally understand why you need a break from blogging! You're over-blogged ;) lol Event planning is not easy, especially an entire months worth that you are doing on your own! I can promise I'll be waiting patient for October 1st though!

Also...Congrats on the event! I can't believe I won! <3 Thank you so much *eagerly waits for e-mail*

Asher I love you and your Arrested Development references. <3

I totally feel you. I feel like I crapped out on you after the first week of your event (well, crapped out on the blogosphere in general) as life just got to be too much and I really went into a whole slump with being on the internet. But I'm back now, so of course I'll miss you terribly, but I wish you the best with employment and college--I hope you'll still have time to stop by and say hi plenty! I know how hectic life can get with that, but it's so exciting! Can't wait to see you back, and don't worry, I'll be stalking you on Twitter and Goodreads in the meantime. :)

Girl, that's a LOT OF SHIT you just did there. Congrats on potential employment and college and all that amazing stuff. But most importantly (depending on your priorities, I suppose!) get you some R&R from blogging obligations. <3

I love Arrested Development! You rock! I'm sorry to hear that we won't be seeing you blog much, but school/life comes first! Congratulations on potential employment! ^_^
