My Big, Fat TBR Pile [20] aka (sort of) Waiting on Wednesday (and every other day)

There's a common theme running like a track star through Paranormal Indulgence: obtaining books by the look of the cover instead of on merit or substance. Don't give me that look. I'm not changing for you. I'm terminally superficial. The good news is that because this blogger is a self-proclaimed cover whore, your eyes will never come across anything wanting. Come join me in staring. Then, thank me after.

MOST WANTED

Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.

As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.
Why I'm Going to Read It: Let me ask you a serious question: do you know anyone worthy of mentioning that does NOT want this book? Seriously? Because I'd like to meet this person and do violent things to them until they see my way, or in other words MY UNRELENTING DESIRE FOR THIS BOOK. Have you read Jen's review of this? I know you know her, SHE'S JEN (Makeshift Bookmark, peeps, get with it!). And as she so succinctly wrote, Cinder is a mother tackling BAMF. And then it gets better: Red Riding Hood is up in this book. You know shizz is going to go down when you've a story including a BAMF she-cyborg, a handsome do-gooder strong prince, an interesting French lady, and a yummy and tortured Big Bad Wolf. Who wants to be in NOVEMBER right now after that? Like, what am I supposed to do with my life?

INFANT RELEASETaking a closer look at my TBR, this book is heading the list of fresh releases I need to read.
DUNKED IN DUSTThis section of my TBR focuses on a much older release I can't wait to read.

It's no secret that I'm NOT TRIPPING over the Legacy trilogy, but, hey, there is a selection of redeeming qualities, like a sexy boy. OBVS.

Skylark has, if rumors are true, incredible world-building and writing, and I'm gullible. Hence, my interest. Fingers crossed.

Well, I'm all tapped out of anticipation and things, so you do the talking. I could use a break.

Got something specific in mind? Dare I believe I might NOT have covered something you wish to know? If so, let me know down in the comments section. Also, tell me if you're excited to see me posting these again, because I'm self-obsessed and would like to know. Then, you may tell me what you're desperate for.

I'm with you, if there's a gorgeous cover I'm IN. Scarlet is definitely on my list. I don't have an urge to read the Legacy trilogy but Skylark does sound good. I'm not sure that I LOVE the cover, but its pretty enough...

Sorry to torture you, but Scarlet is probably the best book I've ever read, and it's a zillion times better than Cinder. It's so good! Also, I'm dying to read Skylark as well. That is all.

I'm really interested to see how the Little Red Riding Hood story is incorporated into Scarlet-I've never read a retelling before!

Cinder didn't blow me away as much as it seems to have with most people (don't ask me why, I don't know!) but I still enjoyed it well enough to want to read the sequel. I'm super curious to find out how Red Riding Hood is integrated into the story. Skylark is a book I want to read too! It's had some awesome reviews. :)

*sobs* So... you've read it. AND YOU SAY YOU DON'T WANT TO TORTURE ME? The best book ever?! SON OF A -

I hope to finally get to Skylark before the year is over because that sucker has been out for months now. xD

I have a friend who actually digs Scarlet a teeny bit more and is shipping the couple a little bit more. That in itself is worth checking for yourself. And now that I think on it I don't think I've read one either! However, Princess of the Silver Woods is coming out and that's like a mish-mash of Red Riding Hood, 12 Dancing Princesses, & Robin Hood so that sounds like it's going to be awesome as well.

It's like you stole the thoughts from my brain before they were fully formed xD

I think you'll be mind blown after Scarlet. I have a sneaking suspicion. And Skylark has been out for months now and I feel so ashamed that I haven't read my ARC, because like you I've heard really good things.

WOOHOO. Let's all have a cyber party about it!

It's always nice to have new books to go to on the ol' TBR. I can assure you that Cinder won't disappoint.

Pretty indeed. I love the themes to these and I hope they don't change.
