Oy! Blood Sucker Geeks Come Forth! Win a Copy of Bitter Blood by Rachel Caine [US]

There's a little story here for me to share. As you probably know, the Morganville Vampire series is a favorite for ALL OF LIFE, and trumps the pleasure of new book smell, double chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and Pretty Little Liars. Maybe even fictional kissing and giveaway winning. So, of course, when I saw the email in my inbox inquiring about blog tour participation, I nearly peed my brand new pair of ankle jeans a la Forever 21 in the middle of my GEO101 class. Not that appalling, no, but it would've been uber embarrassing. Then I forgot about it. I blame my professor. When it finally sunk in my head after being home for several hours, I responded as quickly as my pinkies would allow me... only to find out there were no more spots available. My heart sunk down to my stomach and then landed out my rear end. The moral of the story? Always answer your emails, even if you have to ninja your way passed your unfairly observant professor to the dark, cruddy recesses of the girl's bathroom. Oh. And never send me any either. BECAUSE APPARENTLY MY RESPONSE TIME SUCKS. In this one area of my life, I feel compelled to point out.

--------------------------------------------------------------GIVEAWAY

For years, the human and vampire residents of Morganville, Texas, have managed to co-exist in peace. But now that the threat to the vampires has been defeated, the human residents are learning that the gravest danger they face is the enemy within…

Thanks to the eradication of the parasitic creatures known as the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town’s human population is determined to hold on to their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn’t about to take sides, considering she has ties to both the humans and the vampires.

To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide. Now, Claire and her friends have to figure out how to keep the peace without ending up on the nightly news… or worse.

Book 1: From the author of the popular Weather Warden series comes the debut of an exciting new series set in Morganville, Texas, where you would be well advised to avoid being out after dark.

College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

Listen, all you international bros and gals, don't feel too putout. You can always enter my giveaway for Carnival of Souls, if it'll make you feel better than the combined forces of Ben & Jerry residing in your freezer. But, for everyone else who was smart enough to endure blistering winds and battle back sea monsters to stay here in the US for the duration of this giveaway at least, you can win a copy of Bitter Blood by Rachel Caine. Which is awesome for you, as a fan, because I know you're broke. So be happy about The Free Thing!

I try to check my email at least once or twice a day, sometimes when I'm waiting for the bus or my ride I check with my phone and when in class sometimes it's open in the background on my laptop! :)

Unfortunately no, I am not faster than a vampire at taking care of my emails. I try to address them every day but sometimes it's too much.

I'm not sure how fast a vampire is in that area, but I check my emails at least twice every day.
Thanks!

I’m one of those people who will check my email a lot (it’s
on my phone, I can’t help it!) but unless it is something I know that I need to
respond to immediately, I will wait for a little while to answer, just because
sometimes the impulse answer isn’t actually what you want to do. Even for something silly, like a thank you
email, I like to wait at least an hour so that I don’t say something I didn’t
mean unintentionally.

I TRY TO BE FASTER BUT SADLY, I AM NOT..LOL

So you're obsessed with your email? AND YOU'RE PROUD OF THIS?! :P

Princess Ash said...

You see? Did you learn anything from my experience? YOU MUST ALWAYS CHECK. Otherwise you won't get to participate in a Morganville blog tour... or at least, the equivalent to you xD

Princess Ash said...

I am only five times slower. Which is better OBVS :P

Princess Ash said...

Of course, vampires can be super fast when they want to and so therefore I refuse to believe they'd let any messages pile up in the ol' inbox. Let's ask one.

I am FINALLY getting into the habit of checking on my phone so that something like this doesn't happen again. I'm impulsive then, and I LIKE IT.

Princess Ash said...

It's okay. For most of us, that is the story of our lives.

Alicia said...

There are somethings you have to be impulsive for :).

Kirsten said...

I check my email CONSTANTLY, but it takes me forever to respond to things because I panic over things like word choice and tone (I mainly get emails from professors, if that explains anything)

AHH. But it's those evil college professors. I have to worry about impatient pubs and bloggers. A far worse cyber fate.
