Something Lovely Under the Stamps [55] aka In My Mailbox, Stacking the Shelves, Book Haul, etc.

You know, there's only one person to blame for my impromptu absence from the blog. And that is NOT me but the evil mastermind behind the concept of finals-taking. Whoever thought of giving these exams to poor, overstressed, double-job working young adults like myself was either very bored or very evil, with no consideration toward those of us, again like me, who can't even order our own alcohol yet without being tackled by police officers to soothe the worries and pains. However, my overtaxed brain rejoices in our diving back into books and being back with all of you. SO BE GRATEFUL AND UNDERSTANDING, DANG IT.

Oh, yeah, one more teeny thing I forgot to mention: I bought some books, then I was gifted some books, then I bought some more, won some more, and then Christmas happened. I see that face. Take your amused eyeballs somewhere else. WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME? (More)

I woke up at six in the morning to edit this video. YOU'D BETTER WATCH IT.

Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier | Bought
This little thing landed in the good graces of Keertana @ Ivy's Book Bindings. She doesn't know this yet but I trust her with my sanity. And what's left in the reserves is so, so precious.

Stolen by Lucy Christopher | Bought
If there's one thing I know - and I don't know much - when Sam @ Realm of Fiction says a book made her cry, shizz is getting serious. And also I just love the pants off of Leanne @ The Reclusive Reader's review. Hence, the buying unwisely since I have a super sensitive corazón (that's spanish for the sensitive place in your chest), people.

The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle | Bought
Do you know anyone who HASN'T read this book? And said it wasn't awesome? I sure don't.

The Last Knight by Hilari Bell | Bought
Reluctant brothers-in-arms? Knighthood? Escape of the wench may cause the demise of their necks and reputations? YES PLEASE! One of my fave bloggers, Small @ Small Review, made me heart the idea of this.

Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock | Bought
There are a few reasons I want to read this book. First, because I'd like to know if the ridiculous title was a happy accident or actually has some relevance to the book. Second, it sounds ADORBS, friends. Also, THREE DOLLARS.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas | Bought
MY FAVORITE BOOK. Or one of them.

Morganville Vol. 2 + 4 by Rachel Caine | Bought
'Tis a far better thing to actually own all of Morganville.

Ghost Town by Rachel Caine | Gifted
Which my mom accepts. It's the only way to keep me on the straight and narrow. Who knows what would become of me with the sudden nonexistence of Morganville in my life? She wants no part in my heinous crimes downfall. My collection is growing according to plan.

Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier | Gifted
See: above second to last line. This will also explain why she rushed to get this into my twitching hands.

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter | Won
You don't even want to KNOW how many times I entered the giveaways for this. It's a sad, sad reality and my family and I would appreciate some privacy during this dreadful time.

Venom by Fiona Paul + Crewel by Gennifer Albin | Won
I unexpectedly won this awesome giveaway hosted by Montana @ The Book Belles. I can't wait to start Venom and I'm currently petting Crewel as it sits in my lap.

Macregor series #5-10 by Nora Roberts | Bought
AT LONG LAST. I'VE FOUND THEM. Well, all but one. Dang it. The prequel has elluded me for the LAST TIME. I will NOT stand for this.

Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta | Library Borrow
Misty @ The Book Rat somehow convinced me I have not lived until I read this book. Yet again, my TBR has grown. Dang it. I'm still in the middle of FROI, then we'll see...

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness | Library Borrow
When do you NOT hear about the Chaos Walking trilogy? I think it's about time.

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry | Gifted by Harlequin Teen Panel
I LOVE THIS BOOK LIKE CRAY. Nuff said, my friends.

Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols | Gift from Christmas
I don't think I've ever loved a Jennifer Echols book the way I love this one. If you haven't met Office After, how can you be sure you've ever properly felt tingles for a fictional male?

The Book of Atrix Wolfe by Patricia A. McKillip | Gift from Christmas
YO, read Angie @ Angieville's review of THIS BOOK. Tell me you don't want to own it RIGHT NOW. What was I supposed to do other than include this in my Christmas wishlist?

Legend by Marie Lu | Gift from Christmas
Probably the saddest book I've ever not read, according to my sources.

Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier | Gift from Christmas
You guys HAVE to know I lo-lo-loooove this book.

Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready | Gift from Christmas
The sexy rumored to be in this book happens to be, sad about me, the thing I'm most anticipating because, HULLO, HAVE YOU MET ZACH? The ONLY hot one in the kilt?

Outpost by Ann Aguirre | Gift from Christmas
Why, Macmillan? Why were you so cruel to me?

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes | Gift from Christmas
I was worried about this, EVEN THOUGH I'VE WANTED IT SO BAD, until a god-send in the form of a review at Sam's blog turned up. 'TIS MY LUCKY DAY.

ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT. I am finished speaking now. Gosh, I need a glass of water. Immediate assistance required with this task. Also, if you haven't already checked them out, I have reviews up for Decked With Holly by Marni Bates, The Farm by Emily McKay (and giveaway), and Blood Prophecy by Alyxandra Harvey. Do a kind, gentle soul a favor today, then come read and comment on my posts if you please.

Ash, that is a MEGAHAUL. So many there that I want to read. I need to make time for ALice in Zombieland--I've heard it's awesome. And I think you've convinced me to read Shadowfell, which I've been trying to decide whether to read or not. So thanks for that! :D

Enjoy the epic new stack of books!

wow! SO MANY BOOKS! I considered buying a Morganville Vampires Book yesterday but decided against it until I finish vampire Academy. You are the second person I have seen to have Sapphire Blue in their pile thus making me kick myself even more for not thinking of buying it at B&N yesterday!

Wowza, your book haul is SO FULL OF WIN! Heart's Blood was utterly gorgeous, I can't even discuss Stolen without getting emotional (ITISSOGOODREADITREADIT), The Hallowed Ones, Dairy Queen, and Jellicoe Road are all stellar novels written by some of my favourite authors. And don't worry, you're not a loner concerning Legend -both of us have yet to jump on the bandwagon, haha.

YOU GOT HEART'S BLOOD! :D I actually just bought it myself since I needed a copy myself and I cannot WAIT till you read it! READ IT ALREADY! I will be stalking you till you do! ;) I will have to tell you, though, that Daughter of the Forest is Marillier's BEST, so read that after HB!

Funnily enough, I also wound up buying Stolen because of Sam and Leanne's reviews, so I can't wait to read that.

The Hallowed Ones sounds silly, but it actually is reallyyyyy good. I hope you enjoy it! :)

I really enjoyed Dairy Queen. It's SO cute and the sequel is actually even better. I still have to read the last book, but I kinda don't want to since I'll have to say goodbye to the amazing characters, but it is seriously amazing.

I wasn't a huge fan of Throne of Glass, but I'm glad it's one of your favorites. I just love the cover. I also wasn't a fan of Crewel, although that cover is beautiful too, but I hope you like it!

YES! JELLICOE ROAD! READ IT! It starts out a little slowly, but it is just...amazing. I can't even explain it's beauty. Even if you're bored at first, keep reading because it is SO worth it!

I need to read The Chaos Walking Trilogy too, so I'll be looking out for your thoughts on that, and I have to agree with your sentiments about Pushing the Limits and Shadowfell - adored those too! AND FLINT! ;)

I am SO worried about Falling Kingdoms! I've read mostly negative reviews with a handful of good ones, so I knocked it off my shelf, but now I think I might like it. I DON'T KNOW! Review it quickly, yes?

Anyway, this is like a post in and of itself, so sorry about that, but Happy New Year, Ash! :D Oh, in case you didn't figure out, your haul is kind of amazing. Like, totally awesome! ;)

ALSO. I just want to hit pause.

AND DANCE ALL OVER THE FACT THAT YOU GOT THE HALLOWED ONES! Ahhhhh, I love that book with all of my heart. It's so good.
